Ethos and Values
“You have exceeded all our expectations – given our son a way to develop into adult life that we could never have imagined possible”.
– Parent of a David Lewis College student.
At the David Lewis College, our role is to prepare each young person to live an adult life that is as independent as that young person wants and is able to lead. We provide the necessary structure and support combined with a tailored learning programme to enable each young person to fulfil their potential.
We work with young people to support the achievement of their goals in all areas of their life, including effective communication, raising confidence, building self-esteem and making employment choices. Together, we make realistic, achievable choices about the future.
Part of the role of the David Lewis College is to encourage students to embrace new experiences and to develop their skills and knowledge. Our outstanding range of indoor and outdoor facilities bring education and learning to life. Social activities play an important part in personal development and we organise trips to the cinema, theatre, ten-pin bowling and the gym. There are opportunities for shopping and eating out and our many clubs and societies include sports, arts, IT and media.
The College exists for our students and there are active forums in which students can participate that shape our services and activities.
