We’re thrilled to share with you our 'Planning Our Futures' event! The event brought together a range of local colleges, specialist organisations, and supported internship and employment providers. Each offering valuable insights into opportunities available for young people with special educational needs. From education pathways focused on employment, to social opportunities and day services, there was something for all those attending.We were also delighted to welcome Sasha from Disability services who shared expert guidance on financial support and navigating application processes — an invaluable resource for families. Thank you!This event was all centred towards building awareness and empowering both students and parents to navigate their future aspirations with confidence. Huge congratulations to Gaynor Jones on being awarded Apprentice Student of the Month at NSCG-Newcastle College!Gaynor who started her learning last year, has committed 1000% to the challenge and has thrived. The event, which has several award categories representing all different aspects of what is great about social care, including the category for the Complex Care Team Award of the Year.We were delighted that David Lewis’s Clinical, Therapy and Safeguarding Team were finalists in this prestigious category. 🌟 Dream Come True! 🌟Earlier this year, someone we support shared his dream to fly to America. Thanks to the amazing support from our whole team—including key support workers, PBS specialists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and medical team—his trip became a reality!He flew 1st class to Florida, enjoyed theme parks, tried new foods, and made unforgettable memories. David Lewis in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, received a special visit from its Patron today, Her Royal Highness (HRH) The Duchess of Edinburgh, on a day that marked a significant milestones for the charity.
