david lewis is a progressive, enabling, organisation dedicated to improving the life and experiences of people with complex needs.

We are the UK’s largest provider of care, education, assessment, treatment and life skill development for people with complex epilepsy, physical and learning difficulties and other neurological conditions.
Our person centred approach is unique and is delivered right across our specialist areas.

Assessment and Treatment

Our assessment units are state-of-the-art and offer a comprehensive, residential assessment for patients referred to us who will benefit long-term from our expert, holistic approach to their needs. Our services go far beyond what you would expect and can be tailored to include EEG, Video Telemetry, Neuropsychological testing, behavioural, communication, living skills and risk assessments. We are focused on the person, not their condition. That means we strive to ensure that every patient can fulfil their own potential, be that through rationalisation of medication, social activities or life skills. Our aim is to improve health, self-confidence and wellbeing.

Education and Life Skills

At david lewis we provide tailored learning and education for all our learners via our School, Sixth Form, Further Education College and our continuing adult education provision ‘Footsteps' which provides our service users with choice, opportunity and a clear pathway to greater independence and even working life. Every one of our learners is treated as an individual with their own individually tailored learning programme.

Pathways and Community

Also known as Adult Support Services, we support adults with complex needs including epilepsy and learning difficulties, to attain quality of life and to maximise their living skills in a safe environment. With a highly skilled, trained and experienced multi-disciplinary team of social care and medical staff, we are able to assess people whose epilepsy may be poorly controlled and enable them to achieve optimum control, thereby improving their health, self-confidence and wellbeing.

At david lewis we are very proud of our history. We have a clear focus on tomorrow and will continue to promote a culture which places every person we care for at the very centre of what we do. The specialist services we provide enable every individual to be who they want to be. We believe everyone has a right to be respected and heard. We will continue to nurture, encourage and develop the skills of every individual through our personally tailored services.
