I’m Sam and I live in Sandbach with my Mum and Dad. I come to David Lewis Day Opportunities and I’m here every day. Where every day is a fun filled busy day!
Before I came here, I was a bit bored to be honest. I didn’t have much going on and the days felt really long. But now things are totally different.
First things first: I think day opportunities is awesome!!!
Mondays, you’ll find me volunteering in the shop. I’m a big fan of stacking shelves and having a good chat with the customers especially giving them a high five. Tuesdays, I’m over in the café, helping with food orders and greeting everyone with “my cute” smile, I also love sausage and cheese barm with red sauce.
Midweek’s a blast. I’m at JD’s, Top Farm and The Creative Hub where I get to hang out with the llamas (they’re cool!) I also get creative in the hub with my team where we design photo mugs, cards and posters they are then sold in on-site shop. I then work with my friend Bradley in the DL Radio where I help carry out interviews and announce news and songs. Superstar treatment!
But nothing beats Friday. Best. Day. Ever. I go swimming and then I’m chief caller for the Friday Bingo. Two Little Ducks, QUACK, QUACK! If there’s time, I join in Karaoke where I put on an impressive performance singing Shrek, “I’m a believer” and Mulan, “I’ll make a man out of you.”
Once a month I also get paid to join training sessions with new David Lewis staff. I love this. I get to say hello to everyone, make their ID badges and help with training slides.
And guess what? I’m soon to be best man at my brother’s wedding. I can’t wait. There better be red sauce on my cheeseburger and chips, plus ‘I’m a believer’ playing so I can boogie on the dance floor!
