Physiotherapy
The David Lewis Centre has a well-equipped modern physiotherapy department which includes a hydrotherapy pool and a gymnasium. Paediatric and adult care is given by an experienced team, providing a wide range of treatments aimed at improving the quality of life for our residents. Important elements include the design and delivery of programmes to maintain and improve mobility, treatment of recent injuries and the provision and maintenance of essential equipment such as wheelchairs and the ever increasing 'fleet' of tricycles.
All new pupils, students and adult residents are seen for assessment and physiotherapy intervention is implemented if necessary.
Protective helmets, specialist footwear and supporting splints are essential pieces of equipment for many of our clients and the physiotherapy department assumes responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive orthotic service
