Dietician

Dietician

The dietetics service for both adults and children is provided by dieticians form the department of nutrition and dietetics in Central and Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust. The dieticians visit the centre regularly: 0.5 days per week for the adult and college services and an average of  1.5 days per month for children.

The role of the dietician is to advise residents and/or their carers regarding dietary changes which need to be made in any of the following circumstances:

  1. to help treat a medical condition e.g. diabetes
  2. to promote better health
  3. to improve a resident’s nutritional status if they have problems which cause difficulties with appetite/eating and weight loss.

The dieticians can be contacted via the clinical unit (where they are based during visits) or via the internal mail/email system, or at their base at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Tel: 01625 661126.
