Term Dates 2023 – 2024

Flexible and personalised courses allow learners to study on a day, or residential basis, anything from 38 weeks term time only to a full 52 week residential placement. We support for learners as per assessed need.

We offer a holistic learning environment and residential “Waking Day Curriculum” with access to on-campus therapists, medical specialists and specially trained staff.

We have a wide ranging curriculum with access to excellent learning facilities on our large campus. Learners have the opportunity to develop their work related skills on our “Preparing for Employment” or “Vocational Pathways” including, animal care, horticulture and conservation and retail, customer service and hospitality. The majority of learners graduate from the school to our college on the same site or to our adult provisions.

Everything we do is focussed on our learners, all learners are individuals and we are here support them to become more independent and confident and prepare them for the future – be that moving on to our College or elsewhere.

Children and young people benefit from our broad and balanced curriculum with meaningful learning opportunities that focus on the promotion of communication, independence and life skills, including preparing for the world of work.

From the time of application, we ensure that we take the time to understand all there is to know about anyone who wants to come to study at our school.

We work with learners to find out:

  • their aspirations
  • what skills they already have
  • what they need to work on
  • what they enjoy – and equally, what they don’t!

We are then able to create an individualised learning programme that is suited to the learner’s aspirations and planned educational outcomes from their Statement or Education Health and Care Plan.

David Lewis does not promote the lottery to children under the age of 18. David Lewis has implemented the following procedures to prevent children under the age of 18 years old taking part in the lottery:

  • The minimum age for play is detailed on our website
  • Children under the age of 18 are flagged on our database
  • Where possible we check our database to ensure persons are above the legal age limit before data is supplied for the use of a lottery.
