Leisure Activities
We encourage each individual to maximise their potential with a structured daily routine that can be tailored to meet their needs. This means deciding which activities and leisure pursuits to get involved in according to their own likes and dislikes. Due to the high dependancy of our patients at Frederick Harwood, patients may not have the the same level of independence than those in our other units, however we endeavour to promote patient choice and encourage activities throughout the day:

7.00 – 8.30 Choose what time to get up
8.00 – 10.00 Personal needs, medication and breakfast
10.00 – 12.00 A choice of activities with coffee break
12.00 – 13.15 Lunch
13.15 – 17.00 A choice of activities, including an afternoon nap
17.00 – 18.00 Evening meal and medication
18.00 – Bedtime Evening activities
Bedtime Personal needs, medication and decide when you’d like to go to sleep
The range of activities available for our patients at david lewis includes arts, crafts, music and games at the Drop in Club and life skills such as cookery, woodwork and horticulture at our Day Services. We also organise trips into the local community to visit restaurants, pubs, bowling alleys, cinemas, shops and local tourist attractions. In the evenings we provide embroidery, art and theatre workshops as well as church services open to every denomination. Music therapy, cookery and art are provided during the evenings and weekends.
