Admissions and criteria

Frederick Harwood Unit at david lewis offers high dependancy nursing care for young adults aged 18 years and above, and can provides up to 6 high dependancy beds for older people over 65.  The unit specialises in providing long stay beds for the chronically ill which includes people with complex epilepsy who are physically disabled, sensory impaired, have learning disabilities or are terminally ill.

Within Frederick Harwood our specialist nursing staff are able to provide care for people who have a disturbance of their normal epilepsy, as well as those who have acute medical conditions.  This specialist unit  is also well equipped to undertake short stay investigations and treatment, offer external respite care within a health setting and provide comprehensive house assessment of epilepsy for those people with high medical needs.
