Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Q - What services do you offer?
A - Too many to mention!   But broadly speaking our wide and varied programme includes education-based activities such as numeracy and literacy, work-based activities such as horticulture, woodwork and light industries, as well as community-based sessions like swimming, shopping and visits to places of local interest.

Q - When are you open?
A - Day Services is available 7 days a week.   Our hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and Monday evening from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm.  We are also open on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm for our computer course and, during term time, the Residents’ Club is open 7.00pm-9.00pm Tuesday and Wednesday for courses offered by Macclesfield College.

Q - Is Day Services just for residents at The David Lewis Centre?
A - No.  In fact we welcome external referrals from the community.  Just contact Darren Brodrick for more information.  There is a minimal charge for our services.

Q - Can you arrange pick-ups?
A - Yes.  In certain circumstances we can ask one of our drivers to collect you and bring you to the centre.
