Continuing Care

Patients of the richard Miller Unit at david lewis are supported to live as normal a life as possible. Our focus is on maximizing potential with a daily routine that is tailored to meet their needs. This means offering each person the opportunity to develop the skills they require to achieve social inclusion and acceptability. Patient’s independent living skills include shopping for and cooking their own meals, in modern, purpose built facilities. These facilities are designed to minimize the risk posed by epilepsy. Patients have good access to the wider community with planned and impromptu trips to local towns as well as those a little further a field. Risk assessment and risk management is the corner stone of this care provision.
Case conference meetings are arranged yearly or more frequently with our multi disciplinary team if required.
