Residential Behaviour Service

Richard Miller Unit provides care for individuals with Epilepsy and associated disorders. These associated disorders may include learning disabilities, mental health problems, and behaviours which challenge service provision.
The unit is registered with The Health Care Commission as an Independent Hospital. The unit is able to take patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act [1983].
We aim to provide a quality service, which will allow an individual’s health, occupational, social and recreational needs to be met, and so maximise potential and lead to optimum quality of life.

A holistic, multi-disciplinary approach forms the basis of our care, and takes into account assessment, and analysis of risk.

The Unit can take patients aged between 18 and 50 years. There are 10 single bedrooms on the unit; some have en-suite facilities. The bedrooms are split into two, five bed gender specific flats. A Registered Nurse is on duty 24 hours a day, with experience relevant to the patient group.
