Work experience

The David Lewis Centre values its collaboration with schools, colleges, Higher Education establishments and supported employment providers in the community. One way of fostering these links is by accepting students on work experience placements.

We offer placements to school, college and university students, as well as for people looking for professional placements.

As an employer, we aim to provide a valuable work placement to all those who undettke their placement at the Centre. In order to do this we will –

• Ensure that a pre work experience visit is organised for students to visit the Centre.
• Ensure that students are aware of all aspects of company policy that they will be required to comply with, prior to their placement, e.g. hours, dress, code, code of conduct and health & safety requirements.
• Safeguard students via an induction on their first day.
• Ensure that students are placed in an appropriate environment.
• Fulfil the specific requirements that students may have; being clear about the aim of the placement and taking all reasonable steps to achieve that aim

Please note that all work placements are subject to confirmation from the educational establishment from where a student is attending that a CRB Enhanced level and two references were sought and obtained when the student enrolled with them and were deemed satisfactory.
