Our Facilities
At David Lewis we are committed to creating the very best opportunities for all of our learners in the School, the College and Footsteps, and our facilities are testament to that commitment.
We have an Arts & Media Centre, housing our Karten Centre which is a state-of-the-art Design and Communication Technology Resource facility. This provides access to high specification computers and other mobile technologies. Here we also run our own radio station, broadcasting across our intranet. This provides many different learning experiences, giving you the chance to present your own show.
The Eduprint Centre is based in The Work Shop at 3 Chestergate, Macclesfield (our vocational training retail facility) and offers a range of industry standard printing equipment - so you can learn to run a print shop and how to print to a professional standard.
´Juice´ is a contemporary coffee lounge, run by learners, and used by learners, staff and increasingly by visitors.
Rainbow Cafe is also run by learners, and used by learners, residents and staff. This is where work experience can be carried out, providing the environment to obtain on-the-job-training and qualifications for catering & hospitality and customer service.
The Land Based Skills Centre has been developed to provide students with a variety of vocational study opportunities, as well as enjoy a stimulating learning environment. This is home to donkeys, goats and small animals, including snakes, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and insects.
The Work Shop, based in Macclesfield is a vocational training facility a craft and gift shop, it houses the Eduprint Centre and provides a busy, thriving environment for skills development.
