'Looking forward to the future' is something we not only inspire our service users to do, but everyone here at David Lewis. That's why we are constantly looking at ways we can improve and develop.

There are many initiatives we encourage our employees to engage in: Annual Training Plans, Career Paths (helping our carers to progress in care), Management Development, Employee Opinion Surveys and more.

We’ve a dedicated training team who’ll support you, as you develop.


Learn

As a new employee you will attend a comprehensive induction training programme, designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to succeed in your role. You will also have the chance to observe and practice skills and have a mentor to provide guidance along the way.  Following induction, we will provide you with regular training and refresher training days to make sure your skills are up-to-date.  We also offer opportunities to develop further through our Career Paths.


Progress

We are committed to achieving high levels of organisational performance and will support you effectively through regular supervision (one-to-one sessions).  In addition you will have an annual Performance Development Review to identify ways to continuously improve in your role.

We also encourage people to work towards vocational and other professional qualifications, such as Health and Social Care Diplomas (Level 2 & 3) and a range of college and training programmes.  Investment in People is something that we are committed to, we have a sponsorship programme in place to promote development and assist with the cost of learning.
