At David Lewis you will be working with vulnerable adults and young people. As such, it is essential that we ensure that all our employees are suitably qualified to this. The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), an executive agency of the Home Office, provides access to criminal record and other relevant information to organisations in England and Wales. The results of the checks carried out by the CRB help organisations make more informed decisions when recruiting people to work with children and the vulnerable. Enhanced Criminal Records Checks are for posts involving work in a regulated activity for a regulated activity provider with children or vulnerable adults. Checks carried out include highlighting any convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held in England and Wales on the Police National Computer, plus a check of the new barred lists if requested and any locally held police force information considered relevant to the job role, by Chief Police Officer(s).
We are operational 24 hours a day, 52 weeks of the year. Our Term Time only contracts involve you working a 37.5 hour week but only during the school and college terms and you will have school and college holidays off (please note there is a requirement to attend training dates during holiday periods).
After you have completed and submitted your application form it will be reviewed by both our Human Resources team and the relevant Manager. If you are successful at this stage you will then be invited to an interview or a Recruitment Day where you will have an opportunity to find out more about David Lewis and we will ask you to undertake some exercises and an interview in order to assess your suitability for the position you have applied for. You will be advised of the outcome of the recruitment process as soon as possible. If you have been successful, any offer of employment we may subsequently make is subject to us receiving at least two satisfactory references, a pre-employment medical assessment and an enhanced Criminal Records check.
