Publication Scheme

The aim of the Freedom of Information Act is to promote a culture of openness to enable the public to understand how organisations carry out their duties, why they make the decisions they do and how public money is spent.

The David Lewis Centre is not classed as a Public Authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and, therefore, formal approval of a Publication Scheme is not required from the Office of Information Commissioner.

Nevertheless, we aim to conduct our business in an open manner and ensure that relevant information is available in the public domain.

The site provides detailed information about the organisation, charitable status, directors, trustees, senior staff, services and statutory accounts of The David Lewis Centre. Links are also provided on the site to information and inspection reports about the Centre which are available on the websites of The Charity Commission, the Commission for Social Care Inspection, the Healthcare Commission and Ofsted.

Publication Scheme should have a button entitled Disability Equality Scheme which incorporates the following:

Disability and Equality Scheme

  • Leadership and Management
  • Care
  • Client Participation in Care
  • Education and Training
  • Employment and Employability
  • Estates and Services
  • HR and Employment
